Dear Chloe and Lola

Dear Chloe and Lola,

 

I am sure you both are both very excited to start a new year of school. I just know that you both are the prettiest and smartest girls in the third grade.

 

 

This is the year Pascal starts Kindergarten. He is very excited. He has had all of his crayons and coloring books packed into his new backpack for a week in anticipation. He wants to be sure that he doesn’t forget anything.

 
I have been teaching Pascal all about the stars, planets and constellations. He loves looking through the little telescope that I got him for his last birthday. When we go outside to stargaze at night I cannot help but wondering if one of the planets we see are the one that you both came from.

 

 

Jenny starts the second grade this year. She is one of the brightest students in her class and always brings home good grades. She has very many friends and she likes to have them over to visit. Maybe sometime soon you both can come over for one of her sleepover parties. They always have a lot of fun playing with their dolls and doting on Vidcund and baby Lazlo. Jenny says that she wants to be a doctor when she grows up and I am sure she will. It seems like every week one of her stuffed animals is suffering from a different bizarre ailment and she is the only one who has the cure. She has talked Pascal into playing “Hospital” as well, but I think he gets tired of being the doctor who can never figure out what is wrong with Mr. Bear and Madame Fuzzy lips.

 

 

Vidcund idolizes his Big brother and wants to everything that Pascal does. This is sometimes frustrating to Pascal, but he is always very patient with Vidcund. They very rarely fight. I think he understands is Vidcund is still just a little boy and doesn’t know any better. 

Vidcund cried inconsolably when we told him that he couldn’t go to school with Pascal. Jenny promised Vidcund that she would play school with him every day when she got home and teach him everything she had learned that day.

 

 

Baby Lazlo is growing very quickly. It is hard to believe that he is already 8 months old. Jenny adores him and has asked Kitty is she could have a baby sister next time. Kitty just smiles and says that she will see what she can do. She already has her hands full, but I have no doubts that Kitty would love to have another baby. I don’t know how she keeps up with them all. I help with the kids as much as I can after work, but she always seems to have everything under control. She is such a wonderful mother and I am sure she will love you both as much as she loves Jenny, Pascal, Vidcund, and Lazlo.

 

 

I have sent along a few presents for you both. I think you will like having them for school. I can’t wait to hear about all of the things you are learning in school.

 

Please remember that I love you both very much and I am thinking about you every day.

OMG, this is both cute and heartbreaking. You've described the Curious family life so sweetly and realistically.

Thank you. I think there will be at least a few more letters in the future. I like squeezing in backstory that way,and you never know what might be important later on.
